To test out each colour we decided to make a two-tier pastel rainbow party cake. We covered our tiers in pearl white sugarpaste, but Chocolate Cake Drip is also perfect for use on a chilled ganache or buttercream covered cake.

After the sugarpaste had time to harden slightly on the cake, we took out the Chocolate Cake Drip bottles and prepared for the microwave. We really like how quick and easy the preparation is, you don’t need to mix anything together, or add any additional ingredients. Chocolate Cake Drip is ready to use straight from the bottle after just 30 seconds in the microwave! (Microwave for 30 seconds without the lid. After heating, secure the lid and shake well for 1 minute.)

We began with the Pastel Blue colour by adding three drips to the front of the cake. The chocolate wasn’t too thick, or watery. It didn’t have any uneven streaks of colour, or cause a mess. Instead, it was swift and clean to use, had a beautiful even vibrant shade, and was the ultimate consistency! We were so impressed with how well this product has been developed!

Between adding each colour, we used a small sugar shaper to push the chocolate towards the base of the top tier, but you could also use a cocktail stick or scriber tool if preferred.

After adding each colour around the cake, we were amazed to see how well all the colours sat next to each other! The pastel shades are a lovely colour scheme to work with and suitable for all ages, especially ideal for children’s birthdays and baby shower cakes!

To complete the cake, we added additional drips around the edge of the top tier with individual dots on the top. We really like how much control the bottles allow you to have. Using a chocolate drip in a piping bag can sometimes be a little tricky and often messy, but using the Chocolate Cake Drip straight from the bottle allowed us to easily see where we were working, with no mess at all!
