A collaboration of 80 cake artists, who have come together with a message of peace in the wake of terrorism. We spoke to organiser, Bouchra Marir, of Sweet Creations Cakes. As a cake artist living in Paris, she felt it was important to show solidarity.
Tell us about your collaboration
The urge of organising this collaboration came after the terrible terroristic attacks in Paris on 13th November 2015. A date we will never forget. And as in the latest years many attacks happened in several cities, we wanted to spread a message of peace, solidarity and anti-violence by making a sugar creation to bring more sweetness in this mad world.

Tell us about a few of the pieces that have been made
This is a difficult question, as each and every piece has their individual inspiration and meaning and with their own emotion and interpretation of love, peace and anti-violence. I was so touched when I saw all the beautiful pieces together.
How did you decide on this group of people for the collaboration?
I included as many people as I could, thanks to my network and my friends network on social media, and people were free to participate.
If you were to do it again, what would you do differently?
As this was a last minute collaboration, there was not much time to organise it, and to do more for reveal time. For a next collaboration, I have more time to organise it.
