Cupcakes, Cookies and Cake Pops!

Our February issue is here, packed full of tutorials covering cupcakes, cake pops and cookies!

Firstly, I have to talk about your front cover cupcakes – Hogs and Kisses! These easy to model, fun little piggies are perfect for cupcakes and larger cakes too. Vicky, from The Yellow Bee Cake Company, has contributed a fantastic tutorial with lots of really easy to follow steps! Next, Ana, from CUPCAKES & DREAMS Portugal, creates a beautiful owl design which covers the whole cupcake case – something different for you to try. Something else that we have not put in the magazine before are pull-apart cupcakes. YES, those kittens at the foot of this note are CUPCAKES! Sachiko, from mimicafe Union, has done it again – why not give it a go yourself? Talking about cupcakes, you must check out our recipes. There are some delicious ones, especially Renshaw’s cute Valentine’s Cupcakes.

We also have some excellent cookie and cake pop tutorials for you this month. We have made sure to put lots of expert tips and advice in the tutorials so that you can learn how to decorate well, particularly when it comes to those cake pops! In our Expert seat is Tamsin, from Definitely Cake. A top cake pop designer in the UK, she helps you out with all your cake pop questions and queries in our regular Elevenses section. Our competition prize this month is the AMAZING Safety Seal. This new product allows you to coat wires and other non-edibles to make them totally food safe, and is perfect for putting decorations straight into cakes. Our first cake show of the year is coming and we are SO excited! Cake International is at the Birmingham NEC from 17th–19th March. We have a selection of interviews from past winners who share their experiences on competing in the competitions held at the show.
