Roll out some black fondant until 4-5mm thick.

Using a 78mm round cutter, cut out your 'skirt'.

Rub your finger round your black fondant circle to ensure your skirt has neat edges.

Place your fondant over a domed former.

Use a Dresden tool to lift up the edges of the skirt to create movement in the 'skirt' part of the dress.

This is what it should look like.

This is the trickiest part of making the dress. Add some tylo to your fondant to make the top part of the dress so that it will dry well and hold. Use a sharp knife or hobby knife to hand cut the 'top' of the dress - just like a real tailor!

Smooth off any rough edges you may have with your finger.

Then shape the 'top' using a little bit of water to seal the seams.

Apply a little bit of water off the centre of the 'skirt' where you will attache your top.

If your 'top' needs some support, you can place some small bits of kitchen roll under the sleeves until it can hold its own.

To make the bow, roll out your fondant to around 2mm thick.

Using your sharp knife, cut out two small triangles.

Make the folds on the bow by using a small veining tool.

Gently press into the tip of both triangles and use water to join the bow together.

Roll out a very small ball and attach over the join. Using your knife, cut out a small tie shape.

Fix the bow onto the dress using a little water.

Mix up your paint using Super White and alcohol.

Dip your small ball tool into the paint.

Dab the ball tool on to the dress to make polka dots.

Leave your dress to dry whilst you prepare your cupcake.

Pipe some buttercream into the centre of your cupcake.

Place your dried dress on top!
