just roll with it’ fondant icing– renSHAW
This month, we had the chance to try the new and improved Renshaw ‘Just Roll With it’ vanilla flavour Fondant Icing. Now quicker to knead and easier to roll!
To test out the icing, we decided to make some Valentine’s Day teddy bear biscuits using colours Poppy Red and White.
To begin, we took three portions of white paste around the size of a plum. We added colour to each using Rainbow Dust ProGels in shades Caramel, Pink and Peach. We really liked the feel of this paste; it has a lovely smooth texture, great flavour
and a bright white colour – perfect for adding any shade you need!
To begin building our teddy bear faces, we cut a circle from each colour, just under the size of the biscuit, and applied using edible glue.
Taking a round piping tip, we cut two ears for each and pressed into the top of the face using a ball tool.
Using the bottom of another piping tip, we cut the muzzle and added a stitch mark down the face. After adding two eyes made from sugar pearls, our bears were ready for their noses.
The fondant was incredibly easy to work with; it wasn’t too soft or too firm, it wasn’t sticky or grainy, it was super simple to handle and roll out.
After rolling out a small ball of the red paste, we cut a heart-shaped nose for each bear using a plunger cutter, then applied with edible glue. To complete the face, we pressed a modelling tool into the muzzle for the mouth. The red fondant has a beautiful bold appearance, and the flawless red shade for Valentine’s Day designs!
Overall, we couldn’t be more impressed by the new and improved Just Roll With It Fondant Icing from Renshaw. It has a fantastic easy-to-use consistency, good flavour and is extremely versatile. This icing is perfect for decorating cupcakes, cookies and simple modelling, and is also ideal for covering cakes both tiered and sculpted.
Being available in many different colours, you’ll be certain to find exactly what you’re looking for for your next creation. Very highly recommended!
