This month, we had a chance to try ProGel Multi-Packs from Rainbow Dust!Three convenient packs are available to purchase: Rainbow, Pastel, and Essential. The Rainbow pack contains red, orange, yellow, lime, sky blue, and pink. Pastel pack contains lilac, baby pink, peach, lemon, mint green, and baby blue. And Essential contains black, red, leaf green, pink, yellow, and baby blue. We really like how the colours have been organised this way, helping quickly visualise a colour palette – keeping them stored in the pack can help select colours more
efficiently.

To test the ProGels, we decided to make a colourful cosy autumnal celebration cake. To begin, we divided white sugarpaste into six portions, then decided on the colours. We used lilac and baby pink from the Pastel pack, lime and yellow from the Rainbow pack, and leaf green and baby blue from the Essential pack. When kneading a small amount of each gel colour into the paste, we really liked how the consistency of the sugarpaste remained the same. Each colour blended into the paste quickly and easily, finishing with beautifully bold and true-to-colour shades!

Rainbow Dust ProGel tubes are fantastic. They’re so simple to use, each colour is easily identifiable from the packaging, and they’re mess-free!

Taking a knit effect mould, we pressed small portions of the baby blue, yellow, lime, and baby pink pastes to create a striped effect, repeating all around the cake and top edge.

Next, we took a larger portion of white sugarpaste, then added a small amount of the orange ProGel from the Rainbow pack. We were so impressed with the shade – it was the perfect pumpkin orange!

To complete the pumpkin, we textured using a dresden tool, added a stem using the leaf green paste, added two eyes using black sugar pearls, two eyebrows using a black Rainbow Dust Cake Craft Pen, and shaped a mouth using the flat side of a dresden tool. Finally, we took the lilac
paste from earlier and formed a scarf to wrap around the pumpkin.

Overall, we were extremely impressed with the ProGel Multi-Packs from Rainbow Dust. They’re
incredibly quick and easy to use, mess-free, true to colour, easy to store, convenient, and also perfect for use in cake batter, marzipan, frosting and more. Very highly recommended!
